Consultation on becoming a single parish

 

We have been working on our governance as a Benefice. We have three parishes in the Benefice and each parish has a PCC made up of representatives of the church. We are aware of just how much duplication of work goes on across our three PCC’s and therefore are looking at creating a single PCC for the Benefice. This would not change the range of services and activities that we offer.

There has been documentation about this in our newsletters for some months, and we have had an informal consultation. We now have the scheme (legal definition of the proposal) back from the Church Commissioners for the formal consultation which has gone up on each church door. Anyone may make representations either for or against this scheme, preferably by email, to the church commissioners no later than midnight on Monday 9th June.
